Healthy Lifestyle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be one of the most difficult tasks that you try to undertake. The many temptations that exist seem to appear everywhere as soon as you make the decision to try to keep a healthy lifestyle. When you want to go out for some exercise, your favorite show will come on TV. When you are about to make yourself a salad for dinner, your friends will call to see if you want to go out for wings and beer. As you try to get a good night’s sleep your spouse will ask if you want to go out and see a movie. By no means should you be avoiding all of these temptations, as I don’t think that would constitute a healthy lifestyle either. Rather, having a healthy lifestyle comes down to doing things in moderation, including moderation itself. Emotional stress is also a big part of a healthy lifestyle, and always saying no to temptations will certainly take its toll on you eventually.

There arises a risk, however, that people will too often indulge and lose their healthy lifestyle. Going for wings occasionally is not a problem, when you go three times a week it becomes an issue. To combat the negative stress that may be caused initially in your quest for a healthy lifestyle, the brain will actually release certain chemicals that act as natural anti-depressants after only a few weeks of working out. Getting through the first month of a healthy lifestyle is the most difficult part. Once you start to see results, you will find that you have more energy, are sleeping better, and generally in a better mood. My biggest challenge in maintaining a healthy lifestyle (which I don’t always do) is seasonality. Most of my exercise is done outside, making it difficult to do in the winter. Finding some creative solutions to this problem is not that hard, and I have no doubt that anyone with enough commitment will be able to do so.
